Adhesion release methods are hands-on techniques that break up the thick, sticky collagen that forms between muscles, fascia, and nerves. By applying precise pressure and movement, these methods restore normal tissue glide, reduce tightness, improve range of motion, and relieve pain at the source—not just the symptoms.
Adhesions form when the body tries to repair stress, injury, or overuse by laying down extra collagen. Over time, that collagen becomes thick, sticky, and restrictive, causing tissues that should glide to instead get stuck. This is what limits motion and creates tightness or pain.
Many people feel an improvement in their symptoms after the first session, with continued improvements each session. Underlying health conditions, the length of time symptoms have been present, and other factors may change the smoothness of the progression towards being symptom-free. My typical case will have a 15-30 minute session twice a week for 4 to 8 weeks.
For many clients, their symptoms are best improved when Adhesion Release Methods are combined with targeted strengthening and stability exercises. As your case progresses, I will likely give you different exercises to work on at home or in the gym to help speed up your recovery, and aid in creating proper strength balance in your body so that it is less likely that adhesions will develop again in the future.
Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely. If you have upper body symptoms, wear a tank-top or loose-fitting and lightweight t-shirt. If you are hainv glower body symptoms, wear shorts or loose-fitting pants with an elastic waistband.
While I do not currently bill insurance, I can provide receipts for HSA/FSA reimbursement. Please check with your provider to confirm eligibility.
